Selection Process – APSPDCL AEE 2026 Exam Pattern
The APSPDCL AEE Recruitment 2026 selection is entirely based on a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by certificate verification. There is no interview stage for this recruitment.
Step 1 – Computer Based Test (CBT): Conducted from 22 to 29 August 2026, duration 3 hours, in English only. Total marks: 100. No negative marking.
Step 2 – Initial Key Publication: Released on the 2nd day after the last exam. Candidates can file objections online within 7 days.
Step 3 – Final Key Publication: Released 7 days after the objection window closes.
Step 4 – Merit List: Published 7 days after the final key (tentatively September last week 2026), based on normalized CBT scores.
Step 5 – Certificate Verification: Candidates in the merit list (1:1 ratio against vacancies) are called for document verification. Absence or ineligibility at this stage leads to disqualification.
Step 6 – Provisional Selection List: Prepared from candidates found eligible at certificate verification, in strict order of merit with reservation rules applied.
Step 7 – Appointment Orders: Issued to candidates in the final selection list, subject to physical fitness and character verification.
Minimum Qualifying Marks in CBT
Merely securing the minimum qualifying marks does not guarantee a call for certificate verification. Final selection depends on the overall merit rank and availability of vacancies in the respective category.
Tie-Breaking Rules
If two or more candidates score equal marks in the CBT, the older candidate is ranked higher. If age is also equal, the candidate who acquired the prescribed educational qualification earlier gets the higher rank.
Normalization
Since the CBT may be conducted in multiple shifts, a normalization procedure will be applied to equalize scores across shifts before preparing the merit list.

Common Mistakes to Avoid – APSPDCL AEE 2026
These errors can lead to rejection even after qualifying the CBT:
- Submitting a Distance Mode degree from a study center of another state’s university – these are explicitly declared not legally valid for this recruitment.
- Leaving any field blank in the online application – the system will not accept an incomplete form, and no corrections are allowed after submission.
- Changing utility/zone preferences after submission – preferences are final the moment you submit. Review your choices carefully before clicking Submit.
- Paying fee but not completing the application – the Journal Number only confirms fee receipt; the full application must be separately submitted. Many candidates mistake the Journal Number for a complete application.
- Not uploading certificates before the deadline – Hall Tickets will not be generated unless all required certificates are uploaded by 20 July 2026.
- Using a mobile number not linked to Aadhaar for registration – OTP verification requires an Aadhaar-linked number, and registration will fail otherwise.
- Arriving late for the exam – candidates not present at the examination center at least one hour before the scheduled start time will not be permitted entry for biometric verification.
- Carrying electronic devices (mobile phones, smart watches, calculators, Bluetooth devices) to the exam center – this results in disqualification and potential ban from future APSPDCL exams. Under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, offenders may face imprisonment up to 5 years and fines up to ₹10 lakh.
- Canvassing or seeking recommendations – any attempt to seek influence through elected representatives, government officials, or any third party results in permanent disqualification from this and all future APSPDCL recruitments.
