The State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB), Andhra Pradesh, Mangalagiri has announced recruitment for a total of 2,197 vacancies across the Andhra Pradesh Police Department, State Disaster Response and Fire Services Department, Prisons and Correctional Services Department, and Forensic Science Laboratory.The recruitment covers SCT Sub Inspector, Reserve Sub Inspector, SI Communications, SI PTO, Scientific Assistant, Police Constable, Fireman, Warder, Constable Communications, Constable Mechanics, Constable Drivers and Driver Operator posts.
Six recruitment notifications covering 2,050 vacancies were issued on 16 September 2026. A separate notification, Rc.No.94/SLPRB/Rect.2/2026 dated 17 September 2026, was subsequently issued for 147 Driver Operator (Men) vacancies in the Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Response and Fire Services Department. A corrigendum dated 18 September 2026 clarified the educational qualification prescribed for the Driver Operator post. Depending on the post, candidates with Intermediate, ITI, Diploma, Degree, Engineering or relevant postgraduate qualifications can apply. The recruitment process varies by post and may include a Preliminary Written Test, Physical Measurement Test, Physical Efficiency Test, Driving Test, Trade Test, Technical/Written Examination and Certificate Verification.

The 200 vacancies include one BC-C backlog vacancy. Under Direct Recruitment, 33⅓% of vacancies in every communal category, including EWS, are reserved horizontally for women for Post Code 25.

SLPRB AP has notified 147 Driver Operator (Men) vacancies under Post Code 43 in the State Disaster Response and Fire Services Department. Of these, 144 are Direct Recruitment vacancies and 3 are Limited Recruitment/Backlog vacancies.
SLPRB AP Driver Operator District-wise Vacancies 2026
The three Limited Recruitment/Backlog vacancies consist of one ST vacancy in Srikakulam, one ST vacancy in Visakhapatnam City and one BC-C vacancy in YSR Kadapa. Driver Operator Qualification Corrigendum
As clarified through the corrigendum dated 18 September 2026, applicants for Driver Operator must have passed Intermediate or its equivalent examination recognised by the State Government as on 01 July 2026.
They must also possess a correct and clear Heavy Transport Vehicle Driving Licence which has remained valid for a minimum of two years as on the date of notification.
Candidates having qualifications higher than the prescribed minimum qualification will also be considered on par with candidates possessing the prescribed qualification.
SLPRB AP Recruitment 2026 Age Limit
The age of candidates is reckoned as on 01 July 2026, unless otherwise specified in the concerned notification.
Age Relaxation
Only the date of birth recorded in the SSC/Matriculation certificate will be accepted as proof of age. Candidates should check their eligibility carefully because the online application system may not automatically validate every age-relaxation combination.
Driver Operator Home Guard Age Provision
Serving local Home Guards of the Andhra Pradesh Police Department who have completed at least 360 days of service during the preceding two years and continue in service as on the notification date are eligible for the prescribed Home Guard age limit of 18 to 32 years for Driver Operator.
SLPRB AP Recruitment 2026 Application Fee
Non-local candidates of Andhra Pradesh will be treated under the Open Category for payment of the prescribed fee.
The fee can be paid online through the payment methods provided on the SLPRB AP website. Candidates must complete and submit the application after making payment. Merely paying the fee without pressing the final Submit option does not constitute a valid application.
Application fees are not refundable under the conditions specified in the notification.
SLPRB AP Recruitment 2026 Medical Standards
Candidates for posts requiring physical standards must possess sound health and be free from bodily defects that may interfere with the performance of duties.
Each eye must have a full field of vision. Colour blindness, squint or a morbid condition of the eye or eyelids is a disqualification.
Physical disabilities or medical conditions specifically identified as disqualifying in the respective notification will be dealt with according to the prescribed SLPRB medical standards.
SLPRB AP Physical Measurement Test
Physical standards vary according to post and category. For posts where the standard below applies, the prescribed measurements for men are:
Separate physical standards are prescribed for women and for different post groups in the concerned notifications.
Relaxed standards for eligible Aboriginal Scheduled Tribe candidates apply only as specified for candidates from notified Agency areas.
SLPRB AP Physical Efficiency Test
The Physical Efficiency Test differs according to the post. SI Civil, Police Constable Civil and related posts may involve events including the 1600 metre run, 100 metre run and long jump according to the concerned notification.
For Driver Operator, SI Communications, SI PTO, Constable Communications, Constable Mechanics and Constable Drivers, eligible candidates have to qualify the prescribed 1600 metre run.
Driver Operator PET
Driver Operator candidates who qualify the Physical Measurement Test must complete the 1600 metre run within 10 minutes. The event is qualifying in nature.
Electronic timing equipment will be used. Spike shoes are not permitted. Once an event is conducted, its result is final and no re-test or re-conduct will be permitted.

The detailed nature and weightage of physical events and written papers differ according to post and must be checked in the concerned notification.
SI Communications and SI PTO
There is no Preliminary Written Test for these technical posts. The selection process includes:

- Written Examination
The written examination contains English, Arithmetic and Reasoning, and a Technical Paper. The English paper is qualifying in nature, while merit is determined from the papers specified in the notification.
Police Constable Communications
There is no Preliminary Written Test. Selection consists of PMT, a qualifying 1600 metre run and an objective Technical Paper carrying 200 marks, followed by the prescribed verification process.
Constable Mechanics
Candidates have to undergo PMT, a qualifying 1600 metre run, a Trade Test and a final Technical Written Examination. The Trade Test carries 100 marks and candidates must obtain at least 50 marks to qualify. Trade Test marks are not counted towards final merit.
Constable Drivers
The selection process includes PMT, a qualifying 1600 metre run, Driving Test and a 200-mark objective Technical Paper. The Driving Test carries 100 marks and candidates need at least 50 marks to qualify. Driving Test marks are qualifying only.
Scientific Assistant – FSL
No PMT, PET or Preliminary Written Test is prescribed for Scientific Assistant posts. Selection is through an objective written examination followed by Certificate Verification.
The written examination consists of 120 questions for 120 marks with a duration of two hours and is conducted in English.
SLPRB AP Driver Operator Selection Process 2026
There is no Preliminary Written Test for Driver Operator. Candidates will proceed through the following stages:
- Certificate Verification
- Physical Measurement Test
- Physical Efficiency Test – 1600 Metre Run
- Driving Test
- Final Written Examination
Driver Operator Driving Test
Candidates must obtain at least 50 marks out of 100 in the Driving Test. The Driving Test is qualifying only and its marks are not included in the final merit calculation.
Driver Operator Final Written Examination
Only candidates qualifying in PMT, PET and the Driving Test are eligible for the Final Written Examination. Final merit for Driver Operator is determined from the Final Written Examination in accordance with the notification.
Minimum Qualifying Marks
Ex-Servicemen must obtain the minimum qualifying marks applicable to their respective communal category.
SLPRB AP Recruitment 2026 Salary
The above pay scales are under RPS 2022 as specified in the respective notifications. Selected candidates for applicable stipendiary posts receive the prescribed stipend during institutional training and are placed in the regular time scale after successful completion of training, subject to recruitment conditions.

Important Instructions for Candidates
- The vacancy numbers are provisional and can be modified by SLPRB AP.
- Candidates must satisfy all prescribed educational, age, physical, medical and licence requirements for the post applied for.
- Admission to every stage of recruitment is provisional until eligibility and original documents are verified.
- Issue of a hall ticket does not by itself confirm final eligibility.

- BC candidates must produce the prescribed Community Certificate and valid Non-Creamy Layer Certificate as required by the concerned notification.

Driver Operator Important Instructions
- Only men are eligible for Driver Operator Post Code 43.

- The candidate must possess a valid Heavy Transport Vehicle Driving Licence held for at least two years as on 17.09.2026.
- The Driver Operator Driving Test is qualifying and its marks are not added to final merit.
- Candidates must score at least 50 out of 100 in the Driving Test.
- The Final Written Examination carries 100 marks and is used for merit subject to the recruitment rules.
