- Qualification for Project Research Scientist – II (Non-Medical): Post Graduate Degree in Public Health /Epidemiology /Biostatistics /Life Sciences/Health Sciences with three years post-qualification experience in the relevant subjects. OR Post Graduate Degree in Public Health /Epidemiology/Biostatistics/ Life Sciences/Health Sciences with a PhD in the relevant subject.
- Desirable for Post 7: Prior experience in oral cancer / head & neck cancer / NCD research, preferably in screening or early detection programs. Experience working with Health & Wellness Centres (Ayushman Arogya Mandirs) or Community Health Officers (CHOs). Experience in training, capacity building, or IEC/BCC activities. Experience in community-based or implementation research, including field coordination and stakeholder engagement. Hands-on experience in data collection, management, and analysis using SPSS / STATA. Familiarity with public-health surveillance systems, program monitoring, and reporting. Ability to prepare technical reports, policy briefs, and scientific manuscripts.
- Qualification for Project Technical Support- III (Post 7 ii): Graduate degree with Public Health /Epidemiology/Biostatistics/Life Sciences/Health Sciences with 3 years post-qualification experience. or Postgraduate in Public Health / Epidemiology / Biostatistics / Life Sciences/Health Sciences.
- Desirable for Post 7 ii: Experience in oral cancer/head and neck cancer / NCD-related public-health research, preferably in screening or early detection programmes. - Desirable for Post 8: Prior experience in dengue or other vector-borne disease research/surveillance Experience in sample collection, processing, and basic laboratory techniques (ELISA, RT-PCR, molecular or serological assays) Exposure to entomological or field surveillance activities, including coordination with state/district health teams Experience in data entry, management, and basic analysis using MS Excel / SPSS / STATA.

- Project Research Scientist – III (Non- Medical) (Post 1): Rs. 78,000/- + HRA per month fixed without any other allowances
- Project Research Scientist – III (Non- Medical) (Post 2): Rs.67,000/- + HRA per month (Consolidated)
- Field Supervisor: Rs. 40,000/- per month (Consolidated).

Important Dates
Selection Process
- Only eligible candidates will appear for Walk-in-interview / written test. In case of more than 30 candidates, a written test may be taken. The qualifying marks for the written test will be for SC / ST: 35% UR / OBC / EWS: 40%.
- The candidates scoring qualifying marks may be interviewed, if written test is conducted. Generally, Up to Top 05 candidates will be shortlisted for interview appear for each position.
- The candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the written test / interview subject to qualifying the skill test, wherever applicable.
- The final merit shall be prepared on the basis of the marks of the written test and interview. In case of non-conductance of written test being less than 30 candidates, the merit shall be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the interview.
General Information/ Instructions
- The above project positions are purely on temporary basis only.
- Candidates, those who have rendered service in ICMR Projects / ICMR Institutes for more than three years are not eligible for this Walk-in.
- The advertised positions are tentative without commitment for its filling. Recruitment will depend upon requirement of project and approval of the competent authority.
- Emoluments: The rates of emoluments / stipend shown in this advertisement are project specific and may vary according to sanction of the funding agency of the Project. Payment of emoluments to the project person will depend on availability of funds from the funding agency.
- The Director & Appointing Authority has the right to accept / reject any application without assigning any reason(s) and no correspondence in this matter will be entertained.
- The selected candidate should work for a period of at least one month, failing which, the emoluments drawn by him / her will to be forfeited.
- The engagement can be terminated with one-month notice from either side without assigning any reason.
- Candidates already employed should submit a “No Objection Certificate” from their present Employer / PI at the time of Walk-in-interview / written test failing which he / she will not be allowed to appear for Interview / written test.
- Since, the project position(s) is / are temporary; the incumbents selected will have no claim for regular appointment at ICMR-NIIRNCD or continuation of his / her services in any other project.
- The results of the final selection will be placed on ICMR-NIIRNCD and ICMR web sites.
- The recruited project person(s) is / are governed as per ICMR project staff recruitment guidelines and will have to give the undertakings before joining.
- At the time of joining duty, the candidates should bring all original certificates of educational qualifications (from SSC onwards), No Objection Certificate from present employer if working in ICMR Projects (compulsory), SC / ST / OBC / EWS certificate, Experience, Aadhaar Card & PwBD Certificate (if applicable) for availing age relaxation, passport size photograph along with one set of photocopies of the certificates duly attested (can be self-attested) for verification.
- Qualifications should be achieved from recognized Institutions / Universities only. Experience certificate should clearly state the nature of work during the period of employment with dates. Experience in the relevant discipline / field should be from a reputed institution / organization recognized by the relevant authority.
- Age relaxation will be admissible in respect of SC / ST / OBC candidates, retrenched Government Employees, Departmental Candidates (including projects) and Ex-servicemen etc. in accordance with the instructions issued by the Central Government / DoPT / ICMR from time to time. Age concession to the extent of service rendered in other research projects will also be admissible for experienced and skilled persons. SC / ST / OBC will be given age relaxation in respect of the project positions reserved for them only and not for UR positions.
- The conditions of reservations for EWS shall be governed by the norms of DoPT OM No. 336039/1/2019-Estt (Res) dated 19.01.2019 and 31.01.2019. Candidates applying in the EWS category should submit an “Income and Asset Certificate”.
- The Director, ICMR-NIIRNCD reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of project positions or cancel the recruitment or re-advertise the project positions at any time, without assigning any reasons thereof. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
- Date of Interview / written test may be changed due to administrative reasons. Hence, candidates are advised to check website before appearing for Interview / written test.
